Episode 3

Janek on love, death, and potatoes

Published on: 14th July, 2021

In this episode, we're talking to Janek who left his beloved Walachia in Czechia for New York City, or rather for the love he found there. It's a big deal though Janek tries to downplay it and the conversation may often seem like we're putting a knife to his throat, which by the way, actually happened to him many times in Poland. He also gives some hitchhiking and dating advice but get ready for a real treat when Janek breaks into a traditional song about love and death. Enjoy!

About the Podcast

Here and There
Here is Here and There is There
In this podcast, we’ll be talking to people willing to share their stories of here and there. We want to go beyond race, accent, and cuisine and have conversations that will allow us to understand the meaning of here and there better. You’ll hear us wonder about what it means and how it feels to be an immigrant, expat, or otherwise. We are curious how we can see each other and be together while sharing the richness of our experiences. We hope you’ll join us and forgive us if our silliness gets in the way.
